‘Love at first sip’ is how I would describe my first visit to Pure Juz. This little piece of heaven can be found comfortably nestled between several other businesses on Highland Street. The extensive all-natural menu features unique blends of juices and smoothies that promote a healthy diet and can sometimes even alleviate acute discomfort.
Ms. Gonzalez, a co-owner of Pure Juz, explains that she was largely motivated to open a juice bar in order to “give people a healthy alternative for a tasty snack.” Pure Juz’s plethora of juice products only include local and organic ingredients and contain absolutely no additives, extra sugar or water. All products are certifiably dairy-free and vegetarian, and there is an effort to make the menu as vegan-friendly as possible (smoothies are only made with almond milk)!
Proudly boasting as Worcester’s first juice bar, Pure Juz is also committed to operating the business as sustainably as possible. Juices come in either a low-plastic container or a reusable mason jar, depending on if you’re just stopping in or picking up your daily juice cleanses. Furthermore, all scraps from juicing go to a local farmer for his pigs—though apparently they aren’t fond of the orange and banana peels.
Clark University’s Amber Wolfgram, one of the business’s most talented juicers, is very well read in the art of juicing. Tell her about anything from feeling tired to experiencing menstrual cramps and she’ll be able to help you out! (Ladies, see her remedy for menstrual discomfort below)
Pure Juz is open from 8am to 8pm Monday through Friday, 10am to 7pm on Saturdays, and 10am to 5pm on Sundays. Stop by, grab an energizing juice, and spread the word!
